Ashley Shields is Back

The Houston Comets has went 2-1 over the last 3 games. Ashley's play in the recent lost almost turn it into a win. She helped the Comets spark a 26-9 run in the third quarter, but the Phoenix Mecury pulled off the 90-85 victory.

Ashley only scored 1 point in 2 minutes in the Comets first victory. However, she has averaged 18 points in 20 minutes over the last 2 games.

Ashley Shields Update

I've been trying to hold out on an update on Ashley Shields WNBA career to give a positive update. But nothing seems to be going right for Ashley nor the Houston Comets. As of today, the Comets is one of the, if not, the worst team in the league. After 8 games, they have not won one. In several of the games, they have lead and lead in double figures.

Ashley started the season 2nd in scoring for the team avering 20 points after the first two games. Now she has dropped to number 4th with a 7.6 points a game. And her playing time has decreased over the last 5 games. I only caught one game on tv about 2 weeks ago and I was sort of disappointed to see them play her at the point. I think Ashley is a two guard. She did not look comfortable in that position with several turnovers. I know the Comets are struggling at the position and maybe they have to go with need right now.

I know Ashley will be a dominate force in the league and she is probably going through some growing pains of a rookie season.

Ashley Shields Scores 21 Points

Ashley continues to display that she belongs in the WNBA. The Comets continue to struggle early in the season with a 111-85 lost to the Phoenix Mecury. Although the Houston Comets blew a 22 point lead against Seatle Storm, Ashley Shields proved to be a great pick for the Comets. Ashley lead the team in scoring by putting up 19 points from off the bench. Her exact numbers were 4 for 13 from the field, 2 for 4 from 3 point line, 9 for 11 from the free throw, 3 rebounds and 1 turn over.
